Worship

As a church in the Anglican Communion, St. Joe's worships using the Book of Common Prayer. Following these ancient liturgical traditions, our Sunday morning gatherings are comprised of Scripture readings and the proclamation of the Word, followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist or Lord’s Supper. From that flows our life together and our impetus for our daily mission in the world, as we seek to live out our calling to, "proclaim by word and example the good news of God in Christ." We invite all baptized Christians to receive the elements. An outline of the service can be found in the Prayer Book under “Holy Eucharist Rite II.”

Our worship continues throughout the week in the celebration of the Daily Office of the Book of Common Prayer. The Offices derive from the ancient and medieval monastic traditions of daily communal worship and prayer. St. Joe's celebrates the Office of Morning Prayer (Rite II) each weekday morning with a 25 minute service of praise, Scripture and prayer.

All are welcome to drop in anytime to any of our weekly services!
